Image export is too small

Bugs

    Hi, I tried out your app and I really like it. But one thing stopping me from committing fully to it is that I'm afraid of not being able to back up a large project. Should I mess something up, or if your db goes down, I would like a way to have a local copy at hand.

    JSON export for me is not useful, as I cannot render it visually again outside of arcweave.

    Image export has an issue where if the working grid is too large, or if I have a lot of components, the resulting image looks very tiny, like everything is zoomed out and I can't ready any of the text.

    Would you be able to make it so that the Image export will render components correctly?

    Hi there and thanks for trying out Arcweave! There are three different image sizes you can choose when you export your project (Small, Medium, Large). If the available image size exports are not large enough you can always give a try to the PDF export, which will also retain all text in a selectable format.

    You can find the PDF export in the export project dialogue under the PDF tab and the image size options under the Image tab.

    Cheers!

    Hey Manos,

    Thanks for the reply. So I'm just testing out the free tier, and I had created a test project to see how the export works. If it helps, here are the options I selected:

    (1) PNG -> Medium size -> Printer-Friendly
    (2) PNG -> Medium size

    Both of those exports do not correctly size the text if the project has a very large working space: the text is way too small and unreadable.

    Here is an example export: https://imgur.com/a/Gm3nFRm

    I see that the Large size and PDF options are for PRO only, so I cannot test the export functionality there, but for the available options, they are not exporting correctly, at least in terms of readability, which does not make for a good offline backup.

    Will this be something you will address in an update?

    Thanks for the feedback!

    I think current image exports will not be suitable for your purposes since they will have to be extremely large in size (and probably unusable) to be able to keep all project text at a readable level. We will revisit them in the future to see if it makes sense to increase the current sizes or introduce additional ones.

    I have also attached below two example PDF exports of our example project so that you can check to see if the PDF export works for you.
